Marble is a beautiful natural stone that has been quarried from mountains all over the world. As a natural product there are variations in color, pattern and density that actually adds to the beauty and charm of the material. To provide a smooth surface, these marble tile tops have been treated to fill voids, indentations and other minor characteristics found in natural stone and then sealed and buffed for a polished look.

Adding dimension, color, character and smoothness to the wood, a multi-step finishing process also preserves the wood's natural beauty. This wonderfully enhancing process is highly desirable, and found in the finest furniture.
At Havertys, we take many steps to ensure the quality and life of your furniture. These methods used on our wood pieces increase strength and durability, while offering an infinite variety of color, texture and beautiful effects.
Marble should not be treated as if it were indestructible. Acids found in citrus juice, soft drinks and alcohol will damage marble. Wipe off anything spilled immediately by blotting, as you would on a wood surface. Avoid setting beverage glasses directly on marble as they can leave rings. Avoid placing hot pots or serving dishes directly on your marble top. Do not use abrasive cleaners on marble. A quality carnuba wax is a good protectant/sealer for marble.
