    Benefits
  • Multi-Step Finishing Process

Adding dimension, color, character and smoothness to the wood, a multi-step finishing process also preserves the wood's natural beauty. This wonderfully enhancing process is highly desirable, and found in the finest furniture.

  • Distressed Finish

A technique that produces a beautiful timeworn look on wood furniture, distressing is done by creating wear and tear markings such as dents and bruises on the surface.

  • Felt-lined Drawers

A sign of careful attention to interior detail, felt-lined drawers protect your belongings from nicks or scratches caused by knocking against hard drawer walls.

  • Smooth-Finished Drawers

A smooth finish on a drawer's exterior creates a polished and refined look; while one on the interior prevents splinters or snags.

  • Where is it made?

This product is made in #country#. At Havertys, our commitment to provide customers with furniture built for life begins with our suppliers. Each piece marked with the Havertys collection seal of approval is built to our high quality standards.

  • Wood knots

Produced during the natural growth of a tree, knots are prized for the visual interest and unique detail they give each piece of furniture. These darker areas appear as a pattern in wood grain when it's sliced and are not always smooth on the surface. The cracks, holes and impressions are an integral part of solid-wood's look and are sealed for protection for many years of wear and use.

  • Cedar-Lined Drawers

Cedar-lined drawers offer the added benefit of clothing preservation. The aromatic properties of cedar serve as a natural pest deterrent, keeping moths and other damaging insects away from your clothing.

  • Rasping

To create a worn effect, this technique employs a shaping tool that is run along edges and corners.

  • Wormholes

Small holes are made to emulate these ravages of time by using a tool with thin rods tipped with a round metal ball.

  • Wood Care

As resilient as our wood pieces can be, they still require protection and care to safeguard their timeless beauty.

    • Use a clean, soft cloth with a small amount of furniture polish on it, if desired, to dust.
    • To clean wood surfaces we recommend Guardsman products. Guardsman Wood Cleaner is a safe and effective product when used as directed. If using a damp cloth or sponge to clean wooden furniture, be sure to dry the surface thoroughly with a soft cloth. Prolonged exposure to moisture can damage the finish.
    • Use coasters, backing or place mats between the wood surface and items to prevent scratching or warping.
    • Avoid exposing wood furniture to strong sunlight or direct heat sources, which can damage your furniture.
    • Your furniture should sit level on the floor to avoid undue stress or damage to doors and drawers.

  • Cowtailing

This technique brings more depth to grain patterns by using a small brush with a very dark stain to put random short dark lines or curves on the surface.

  • Dust Proofing

Dust-proof panels may be located between each set of drawers and at the base of the case, or sometimes just at the base. These panels prevent circulation of dust particles and thus protect the contents of the drawers.

  • Side Guides

Allowing smooth, directed drawer movement and alignment, side guides are wheeled tracks along the side of drawers that guide the drawer along the inner wall.

  • Beveled Glass

Adding beauty and accentuating the glasswork's detail, non-perpendicular surface edges (bevels) on glass allow numerous bands of extraordinary colors to pierce through, creating the effects of a prism.

  • Dovetailing

One of the strongest and most decorative joinery methods, interlocking dovetails maximizes storage space and ensures drawers won't loosen with years of use.

  • Corner Blocks

Corner blocks at the joints of wood frames increase sturdiness and durability. This method of joinery support offers the best strength and practicality.
