A Modern Outlook
Nestled at the foothills of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, Mary and Kurt’s new house was waiting to be turned into a warm and welcoming home. With a specific vision in mind, the couple decided to put their trust in Havertys to help make their dream a reality. Stephanie, a talented Havertys Design Expert, and Sean, an experienced Sales Consultant, joined forces to design a home that fits the couple’s modern sense of style which was inspired by their home’s incredible view of the rolling, richly forested landscapes of North Georgia. From blueprints to mood boards, Stephanie and Sean styled the home from the ground up.Taming the Wild
With the house being surrounded by spruce, fir and winding mountain roads, Stephanie’s first challenge was to soften and modernize the naturally rugged elements. She and Sean chose a light, cream-colored sofa and textured accent pillows to neutralize the space but then went bold with a contrasting chestnut-hued leather sofa. The result? A harmonious, family-friendly living room that complements the wilderness that’s just on the horizon. Anchoring the room in true mountain fashion, an oversized leather sectional creates a warm and cozy focal point. Stephanie, Mary and Kurt worked together to add finishing touches like white, fluffy accent pillows and dark wood tones to perfectly accent this stunning design.Shop this look
Design is Served
Personalization and inspirational photos guided Stephanie in her design choices. Leather barstools with metal legs and a two-tone, maple wood dining table were added to the design to bring modern flair and were coupled with custom upholstered dining chairs to create Mary and Kurt’s vision of home, sweet home in the mountains. Sean supervised the delivery of each and every piece to ensure the home was truly complete.Nature beckons
Stephanie styled everything to the last detail to create a sanctuary in the mountains for Mary and Kurt. A statement piece like our Bridled Canvas brought a sense of nature and ruggedness into the home, while perfectly balancing with the modern aesthetic the couple craved.
Style never sleeps
Mary and Kurt wake up to a breathtaking view every day, and they wanted their bedroom furniture to be just as dazzling. Seeking a blend of relaxed, wood silhouettes and glitzy, modern details, Stephanie and Sean helped them select bedframes from our Vickery Creek and Hyde Park collections. The natural sunlight through the trees bathes each piece in a uniquely inviting glow.
Blended beauty
Stephanie and Mary balanced the home’s design elements by using mixed metal accents. The dynamic duo of silver and gold perfectly paired with abstract rugs, wood tabletops, artisanal vases and fresh, neutral linens to create a look that beautifully balances comfort and luxury.
