Blank Canvas to Breathtaking
A new house is like a blank canvas – empty rooms and empty walls beckon to be filled with pieces that tell the story of the family who lives there. Kristen and Greg wanted to turn their own blank canvas into a warm and welcoming home with an updated farmhouse feel, but they weren’t sure how to make it happen. Dasha, their Havertys Design Expert, gave them the full Havertys experience and helped them create a beautiful, family-focused design that flows from room to room and shines in even the smallest pieces of décor.Shop this look
Room to Reflect
A space to unwind and relax, Kristen’s keeping room presented the perfect opportunity for Dasha to use our Kloe wing chair and Emma recliner. A combination of dramatic and classic silhouettes in plush, custom fabrics echoed Kristen’s personality and her need to escape from the hustle and bustle of the house. Dasha added hints of green and blue in vases, florals and accent pillows to keep Kristen feeling grounded. Dasha understands that the living room is the family room, and that’s why she helped Kristen and Greg choose our Destinations sectional. Durable enough for friendly paws and spacious enough for family and guests, this piece is styled to stand up to real life. The couple agreed on a neutral fabric that would complement their current décor and any future changes to the room, their lifestyle or their taste in interior design.A Grand Occasion
Plans for hosting future holiday dinners required design that was both impressive and sophisticated. Dasha’s pick? Our Candler Park dining room furniture set complete with comfy upholstered chairs and an elegant marquetry tabletop design. Mariah Parsons chairs bookend the dining table to create a stately aesthetic that will have Kristen and her guests feeling like they are attending a grand event.Shop this look
Farmhouse fare
As far as weekday lunches and casual Sunday dinners are concerned, our Blue Ridge dining set was Dasha and Kristen’s obvious choice. Gracefully centered atop a neutral area rug, this rustically handsome table arrangement is both intimate and open. It beautifully balances homespun style and everyday practicality, which is perfect for a family of three. Earthy center pieces create the finishing touch.
Eye-catching essentials
Visual appeal meets purposeful design in the hand-selected décor that completes each dining set. Countryside-themed canvases adorn the walls while a rustic blend of wood, metal and stone allows each lamp, lantern and sculpture to fit a modern farmhouse aesthetic. Dasha also incorporated touches of white and flourishing faux greenery to make the space feel lush and alive. With just a few candles, Kristen can set the mood in either of her home’s dining rooms.
Work & Play
Working from home is Greg’s new normal. The home office design needed to fit with the home’s overall aesthetic while also providing a professional backdrop for Zoom calls and video meetings. Dasha combined functionality and style with our Whitelock II writing desk and Baylor desk chair with their rich, distressed finishes, USB ports and hidden drawers. The addition of the bridled horse canvas tied the office together with the rest of the home’s updated farmhouse feel.
