The Dude Ranch
Wyoming native Matt moved to Texas in search of greener pastures – but when it came time to decorate his new abode, he needed help creating a space that felt like home for him and his dog, Teddy. Working with a Havertys Design Expert in Austin, he was able to incorporate his love for rugged, ranch-inspired décor into a space while still keeping it feeling modern and fresh.A new home on the range
Matt’s Havertys Design Expert instantly knew our Mason sofa would be the ideal starting point. The rich-hued, top-grain leather stands in stark contrast to Matt’s white brick and shiplap walls, while the piece’s impressive, hand-tied construction stands the test of time. To give Matt’s space the rugged and outdoorsy feel he craved, she accented his space with an authentic hide rug, fresh cacti, and a mix of metal and wood finishes.
Past meets present
Matt decided that he wanted a balance of styles in his space, so his Havertys Design Expert suggested a few sleek, modern chairs with a shiny metal finish and bold pattern. Mongolian lamb pillows were layered into the design to add touchable texture and tie into Matt’s ranch style inspiration.
Up Close and Personal
No home is complete without a personal touch, and Matt’s Havertys Design Expert wanted to select accessories that show off his love of vintage collectibles and photography. Decorative trays and abundant tabletop space did just the trick, while still maintaining the masculine vibe. It’s so important to have a space that feels comfortable and familiar, especially in a new town. I’m so grateful to have that now.
