West Coast Chic
Alice, a Monterey, California native, found herself in a new home with a lingering love for the West Coast and an overwhelming amount of new, open space. She wanted help balancing her taste for classic, neutral styles with fresh pieces and colors that were coastal enough to feel like home. Her local H Design Consultant rose to the challenge and created a gorgeous, comfortable space where Alice could settle in, relax and truly express herself.
Tried & True
Alice started with a blank slate, an open mind and an eye for the classics. Her H Design Consultant knew just where to turn and blended a West Coast color palette with effortlessly modern furniture and décor for a chic, timeless space. She helped Alice choose a custom sofa in denim blue fabric with pewter nailhead trim and layered it with custom accent pillows in assorted hues of ink and navy. She also grounded Alice’s living room space by placing only the front legs of her sofa onto a neutral, ivory colored rug with an understated geometric pattern.
In perfect harmony
Just like the movement of a smooth and steady coastal wind, Alice was seeking a look that flowed, calmed and harmonized with everything it touched. It was important to her that the room mimicked the serenity of her California roots. Accents and smaller pieces like a white table lamp, a chic blue and white garden stool and a plush, cloud-colored throw meld with one another to create a blurred, comforting effect. When looking for a coffee table to complement the rest of the room, Alice's H Design Consult felt like our Sidney coffee table was the obvious choice with its soft grey finish and brushed nickel base.
Creature Comforts
The final touches in Alice’s space are a nod to nature. The rich waxed leather, natural wood grain and cozy down-blend cushions of our Mason swivel chair set the mood alongside a soothing combination of natural light, stylish houseplants and a bold, textured sculpture. Alice’s H Design Consultant knew that her look wouldn’t be complete without a view, so a canvas with the relaxing warmth of a tidal landscape frames the space and lets Alice truly be at home.
I love that my H Design Consultant gave me room to breathe. She took my style and made it work with custom pillows, custom fabric and unique pieces to create a look that has a life of its own.
